Good Morning to all!
Back home in the states at this time its pretty early, but here in Brazil its a brisk 9am as we woke up to TRANSFERS today. Its been quite a minute since ive written anybody. The past few weeks has been full of some of the busiest work for me in the mission yet. I have been able to help so many come closer unto Christ including myself. I as always, do not have much time today, but want to fill you in on some things that have been happening here.
Transfers: As I mentioned already, we received late last night our transfers for the upcoming Six weeks. I will be staying here in "Fazendo Rio Grande" (Great Farm River) with my companion Elder B. Silva leaving and i will have the opportunity to train a new Elder entering into the mission. I am very excited and full of joy today to know that i will be able to help in the best way i possibly can to welcome him here. Elder Lira (who i was living with) will stay as well in our house and will train as well. It will be loads of fun. We will recieve our new companions later today or early tomorrow.
Regarding the work: As i also said before, These alst few weeks have been some of the busiest of mine yet in the mission. I have beenable to help a few beloved people here in this area come closer unto Christ through prayer, fasting, and Babtism. The expereiences im having and the opportunites to help have not only changed the lives of others but piece by piece is helping to change mine as well. I find the scripture in Matthew chapter 16 "For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it." Quite relatable on this experience. I invite all those reading this as well to think about a different kind of way we could "Lose our lives" or to put more simply as well, give service to somebody in need; to "Lose our lives" for the savior.
I will send a few photos from the last few weeks, but for now im out of time. I love you all, And wish everybody an EARLY MERRY CHIRSTMAS!
Falou!
-Elder Matthew Arscott
