July 10, 2017

Bom Dia to all my Family, Friends, and loved ones,

Tomorrow marks exactly three months in the mission and im so excited to share a few things from you this week including:

Fourth of July: We had a great week here in Paranaguá on the coast of Brasil. The fourth of July was celebrated here in our little apartment by two loyal Americans and with some Ramen noodles (Pictures included) it was fun and while there was no fireworks, hot dogs, or baseball, there was a little house of patriotism and laughs.
Elder Rodgriguez even gave me his dictionary in Portuguese which is not only a very interesting and helpful book, but a good present for anybody trying to celebrate American culture.

Service: This week we gave service to Grandma Yasmine, our neighbor to our apartment complex, we helped clear her yard of all the deep three foot grass and it looks good as new. We even found some Algodão (Cotton) in the yard which was really cool, until upon further inspection we found it to be a rotting dog. You can only imagine four missionaries laughing until they were crying at the sad discovery of that. WE named the dog "Cotton" and burried it under our remaining yard scraps.

Shower Round 2: We are now 0/2 with our shower here in our house, we went back to bucket showering for five days this week when our hot water broke. The Brazillian Showers are very different ane we had to find the exact part to replace our shower head which was a little hectic but a relief when we finally found the right part.

Investigators: This week we have one really promising family with the Father named Amarildo. He has a wife and two daughters, one of which has special needs but the sweetest of spirits. I alsomt cried in our last message we shared with them about the tree of life and im so exicted to see where they progress into in this next week.

Spiritual Thought: This week my spiritual thought focuses on Diligence. Diligence is the steady, consistant, earnest, and energetic doing of the lord´s work. We read in Alma 36: 24-25 about the true happiness of the Diligence of the work of Alma. It is important we be diligent. We can be diligent through our attitude, even when things get tough. As Dory the fish always says: "Just keep swimming." We need to "Just keep swimming" through trials or through the easiest of times that we may have in our lifes. If we put god and our eternal perspective on the forefront of our labors and daily vision, this christlike attribute will naturally fall into place. I testify of this trail and attribute and have grown to a better knowledge of this in my mission as well. I know this is the true and restored gospel and im so grateful for my knowledge about it as well.

Thats all i have this week! I love you all and hope you have an amazing week! I would love to hear from you! The church is true!
