I dont have a lot of time this week and am sorry if i didnt email anybody back but i had a good week with life experiences and i am excited to share them with you all this week!
Habits: This week i had a lot of insight on Habits and how they effect our lifes. Habits can be positive or negative in many different aspects, especially in the mission. For example, if you make a bad habit of sleeping in, even ten minutes, in the mission, you will over time lose so many hours of precious preparation time and spiritual insight. Habits are as the old chinese proverb goes: "Like cobwebs in the begining, and cables in the end." We have a great need to set good positive habits in our life.
Babtism: We helped with a babtism this week with Elder Garlick and Elder Rodgriguez, babtized a 14 year old girl and the spirit was so strong, her name is Maria and she is so excited to be a member of the church, it was really cool, pictures to come either this email or next(:
Spiritual Message this week: This week as my topic of email indicates, i would like to focus on the Christlike attribute of Humility. Matthew 18:3-4 speaks on that christ himself said whosoever humbeleth himself the same will inherit the kingdom of heaven. We need to prvoe our humbleness through our faith and our actions. for "If men shall come unto me I (christ) shall show unto them (us) their weaknesses, that they may be Humble, and my grace is sufficent for all men that humble themselfs before me, and have faith in me, and if they humble themselves before me than will i make weak things become strong unto them." (Ether 12:27) To put it simplest: "be though humble... and the lord thy god shall lead thee by the hand and give thee answer to thy prayers" (D&C 112:10) this promise is more then just a passing phrase or suggestion, but is the words of the lord himself promising this unto us. Spencer W. Kimball says: "How does one get humble? To me, one must constantly be reminded of his dependance on who he is dependant, on the Lord. How reminds oneself? By real, constant, worshipful, grateful prayer. Humility is gracious, quiet, serene, not pompoous, or spectacular. It is subdued kindly and understanding. Not crude, blatent, loud, or ugly. Humility is not just a man, but is a gentleman perfect. It never struts or swaggers, its faithful quiet works, will be the badge of its own accomplishments. Its never sets itself in the center of the stage, leaving all others in supporting roles. Humility is never accusing or contentious. It is not boastful." -The teachings of Spencer W. Kimball So for this week i leave you with this message, remember where we are truly dependant. Remember to be humble. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
