Family and Friends from all corners of the World,
What another great week I have had here in Brazil to be able to grow and to build my testimony "Line upon Line... and Precept upon Precept" (Isaiah 28:10). I feel as the Prophet Alma: "but behold, how many of them are brought to behold the marvelous light of God! And this is the blessing which hath been bestowed upon us, that we have been made instruments in the hands of God to bring about this great work." (Alma 26:3) This week through the Holy Spirit I was blessed with opportunities to be a "Light of the World" (Matthew 5:14) and to be both in the service of my fellow man and my God (See Mosiah 4:17)
Every year the Church releases a program around Christmas for each of us to be able to serve and strengthen others. Jesus Christ, the Light of the World, spent much of His ministry caring for individuals, one by one. This past week in seeking Revelation in how to "Light the World", we came to an accord that our district would attend a local community event to Share about the Savior, the Book of Mormon, and how we can "Light the World".
Yesterday evening, the 9th of December, the City of Guarapuava held a "Choir for Angels" where the youth from all of the public schools in the surrounding areas joined together at the local Lake Park to circle the lake, sing hymns and carols, and to spend time with family. As a district of six misisonaries, we set out to talk with as many of the somewhat 30,000 people that would attend. The results were tremendous. We recieved over 500 addresses to visit, contacted over 1,200 people, and shared cards and talked about the church with many more, without number to count.
The results and miracles left us humbled and grateful to the Lord for his work through us. That each and every one of us may "Light the World" through our service to our community, family, and in strengthening our own Faith "Line upon Line" is my prayer for us. That we may "(Bring and) behold the marvelous light of God... (as) instruments in the hands of God to bring about this great work" this Christmas, and always.
