Week One

April 21, 2017

     Matthew has been in the MTC for one week now. He is learning the language quickly but I think it is because he loves the people already. He has been made Distric Leader. On his first p-day, they went to the temple and performed a session in Portuguese. He is happy and busy, just what I want him to be. These are the few things he told me:
1) I'm a district leader and my Portufuese is coming along faster than normal and it's a true blessing.
2) I killed a wasp twice the size of the ones back home, they are scary.  3) Went to the Sao Paulo today and did the session in Portuguese. 4) I have made many friends including the locals and I will send pictures in a few weeks. 5) The weather here is a lot like Hawaii.

I miss him a lot and am doing my own adjusting in having him gone. I am thrilled where he is and how he is serving. I am extremely thankful for the Mission President's wife as she is keeping me posted with some much needed emails.
